Project Accessible Hollywood's (PAH) growth, coupled together with the passions of its founder, Christopher Coppola; make it possible for Detroit's visionaries to put their best foot forward. Christopher Coppola's EARS XI Studio ushers in this PAH-Fest opportunity; he is the nephew of the director Francis Coppola and the brother of the actor Nicholas Cage.
Along with key seminars given by Coppola and other Hollywood professionals, the cornerstone of PAH-Fest will be the Mobi-Flicks competition. The competition is open to all registered participants. PAH-Fest offers free use of equipment, access to mentors, and training. The culmination of efforts shall result in a six-minute story, which will be judged by a panel. A group of students from Madonna University won the Mobi-Flicks competition the previous year.
In addition, there will be cell phone art and self-portrait contests, a virtual concert by Ridha Ibrahim, and a performance by Broadway actor John White, Jr. all held at Madonna University, near I-96 and Levan Road. "I've long been a fan of the style and glamour connected with the James Bond universe. We're trying to recreate the feel of the old Bond films with our special show," said Tony Starlight, owner of Tony Starlight's Supperclub & Lounge, "This is also gives homage to an amazing author who created one of the most enduring icons of literature and cinema."
The show will feature not only Tony Starlight but also vocalists Barbara Ayars and Karla Harris. A six-piece super group featuring James M. Gregg and Bo Ayars will back them.
According to Starlight, "We will perform all of the great James Bond themes, including Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, From Russia With Love, Diamonds Are Forever, Nobody Does It Better and many more. We will celebrate the style and the glamour of the world's greatest spy. Martinis, tuxedos, hot babes, super villains, gadgets, henchmen, great music and hot babes. And don't forget hot babes."
It is recommended that when you attend the James Bond Costume Party and Show, a visit to AlexSandra's Vintage Emporium at 6726 N Interstate Avenue in Portland should be on your list to acquire the best attire to win either the Best Bond, Best Villain, Best Henchman, Best Good Girl, or Best Bad Girl costume contests.
This is one among many of the specially themed shows that Tony Starlight's Supperclub & Lounge provides regularly. In just the past month, there have been tributes to Neil Diamond, Burt Bacharach and Dean Martin, just to name a few. It seems that no other entertainment venue in Portland and probably in all of Oregon has the style, variety and showmanship of Tony Starlight's Supperclub & Lounge.
Silver*Ware Studios, Inc. (SWSI) will not only be producing feature films, television show, animation, music, and video game programs, but they will be all so help other production companies produce their on film. On their facility, they will have their own equipment and office space to lease out to independent film makers and company. This might include funding if packaged properly; for those that want to keep creative control.
SWSI plans to offer the indie film maker a large number of facilities at their disposal. This includes motion capture, green rooms (four wall coverage), post product, etc. They even offer their own distribution through their distribution division (Silver*Ware Distribution). There will be no need for the producer to run around the city looking for all the components to make just one film. They plan to be the film industry's "one stop shop" in the south.

Production for the movie got underway this past week as Jim met up with local kayak fishing pro, Greg Bowdish, in Fort Myers, Florida. Following along with Jim and Greg were filmmakers Will Richardson and Lisa Utronki, and renowned outdoor photographer, Jock Bradley.
On the hunt for 150-pound tarpon, extreme kayak anglers, Jim and Greg, headed to Florida's legendary, shark-infested Boca Grande Pass. With tidal currents peaking at a whopping 8 knots and enough boat traffic to intimidate the most experienced captain, it is no surprise that Jim and Greg's presence marked the first ever kayak fishing attempt at Boca Grande and likely the last one for quite some time.
Weaving between boats and leaping fish, Greg and Jim both managed to hook tarpon weighing in at over 100 pounds. After a ten minute battle with a tarpon that took Jim on a mile-long sleigh ride on his kayak, the massive fish leapt five feet into the air and soon after broke the line. Greg ended his fight quickly and released the monster fish he'd hooked so that it would be able to fight again one day.
Costing only $250 to make, and shot in four days, Insecurity is an impressive addition to the Australian Film world. A "realistic hacker film", it follows Leon (local actor Peter Love) and Greg (Kurtis Wakefield), two IT professionals offered four thousand dollars to break into a computer network. From the DVD blurb: "The only real questions are what complications can arise from hacking into a small home business, what's wrong with the twenty year old daughter Madison (Zoe Tarling)... and what should Greg do when his friend can't stop watching the girl on her own webcam - and without her knowledge."
Harris, who has been involved in film-making for two years, is currently finishing his second film, a comedy for twenty-somethings called Dead Man Drinking.

These were only two scenarios covered by Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, the largest insurer of Hollywood films, which provided coverage for many of this summer’s flicks.
“Every movie we insure is unique, and this summer’s lineup – action films and comedies, many shot in international locations that pose particular challenges – was no exception,” said Joseph Finnegan, vice president of the entertainment division for Fireman’s Fund.
With an over 80-year history of insuring major Hollywood studio films, Fireman’s Fund entertainment division underwriters and loss control experts are dedicated to helping producers and studios achieve the artistic results they are seeking, yet also ensuring they are filmed safely, finished on time and on budget. This is done by analyzing risks and finding solutions to cover specific exposures. Without insurance, studios and financial backers would never invest in big budget productions where a simple accident would result in a substantial financial setback.
